Is thunderbird and gmail a good option to use the digikam mailing list ?

Hi,

I just want to add that I usually prefer forums, because they keep
answers readily available when I need them. To browse through a mailing
list archive is just an awful pain, to ask on the list may not yield the
result because the person who knows the answer has unsubscribed, and so
on. His answer from a previous question would, however, be available on
the net.
Admittedly there will be posts which become obsolete and maybe even
wrong, but a moderator can take care of that.

I receive daily a hundred mails and more, and to figure out which are
important and which not takes time. I generally delete most of this
list's mails, because I don't need them. But those are things I have to
do daily, and it's also sometimes a pain. However, I don't want to
unsubscribe, because then I need to resubscribe when I have a problem
etc., and rarely I also may be able to help (some subject lines catch my
attention).

Regards,

Martin
