[Digikam-users] Cant get Maintenance tools to work

I have just moved a photo collection to a new computer and when I start 
Digikam it does not scan for new images, also when I go into Maintenance 
and select the relevant album and Scan for new items nothing happens 
when I click OK. Also I am unable to find the option for startup to scan 
for new items. This is on Fedora Linux 21 (KDE) with digikam 4.13. 
Anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong?
