Is /tmp hard-coded somewhere?  If so, where exactly?

Full disclosure: If yes, I will likely need to patch fedora builds to use 
something else (probably /var/tmp), since fedora's default /tmp is tmpfs, 
which is unsuitable for anything non-trivial in size.
