This is no simple yes or no question. If I shot a wedding or simmilar
fest I always use RAW (fix white balance, colour correction and use the
headroom of raw data). Same ist true for most landscape scenes. If I
have to shoot sport events I prefere plain jpeg (way less
postprocessing). I use RAW in about 90% an plain jpeg in 10%. I stopped
using both at a time.
There is a reason that user can switch between raw and jpeg. Same ist
true for full automatic mode: better you have an average full automatic
photo than none at all.
