[Digikam-users] Using Custom fields

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to add custom fields to digikam (with digikam or a plugin)?
Besides my photos I just want to simple catalogue my inventory and I need
some extra fields (I could mess up with comment, but perhaps there is a
better solution)

I have thought also about using xmp/xmp sidecar, but it seems as I can't
use my own fields, cause digikam doesn't support own xmp-namespaces.

I'm using digikam with mysql (and store everything in mysql, no  metadata
is written to photo directly)
