thanks! I suppose I should ask in the Gentoo forums how to insert that into
the ebuild.

Did the libkipi info I gave you look normal or does that need to be changed
somehow?

Assume you didn't see anything unusual in the GDB output below, when
starting DK with gdb about the database.
