Thanks for the reply Gilles,
Would you know how to get more debug symbols? I have done a few things on
http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Quality_Assurance/Backtraces but some
of that is over my head.
Mixing different versions of libkipi: this could be. I have libkipi-4.12.0
installed from KDE's install. When I look at DK, I see libKipi-2.1.0 . So
have I been installing DK wrong? I just usually use the emerge package
installer as per normal gentoo operation, but perhaps I need to do
something different?
As for the database, it is up to date sqlite. When I start "gdb digikam" I
do get this (not sure if important or not):
Reading symbols from /usr/bin/digikam...Reading symbols from
/usr/lib64/debug/usr/bin/digikam.debug...(no debugging symbols
found)...done.
(no debugging symbols found)...done.
(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/digikam
warning: Could not load shared library symbols for linux-vdso.so.1.
Do you need "set solib-search-path" or "set sysroot"?
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".

QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still
in use, all queries will cease to work.
