[Digikam-users] editor has no images in the album list...

Why don't you use the lighttable for that? You can select how many pictures
you want, and compare them by 2 aside (with zoom and pan if needed). Use
rating and/or select or color tags to mark the pictures you want to edit.
It's very convenient.
