I don't have albums to look at all the pictures at the same time. They are
only (one of) the first level of my organisation; it is always possible to
refine a search using tags or other information.

No problem. It can be interesting to share experiences.
But as a former organizer, I'm rather keen on structuring data in relation
to the ways I will need to retrieve it; you own needs could be different
and/or you could prefer other solutions.
