[Digikam-users] Digicam downloading image twice when folder name changes

Hello!

I hope I am doing this correctly, by writing to the list. I have tried 
to find an answer to my problem prior to writing.
I use Digikam to download images from my camera's memory card to a 
folder, that Digikam creates. I have configured it so that the name of 
the folder is the same date as the pictures were taken.
I then want to add a short descriptive text to the folder's name. 
Digikam makes, for example, a folder called 2013_05_10 and I want to 
rename it 2013_05_10_peters_bday

Then, the next time I insert my memory card and want to download new 
photos, Digikam tries to download the older photos on the card as well. 
Again! I do not empty the card until I have burned the photos on DVD and 
transferred to a second hard drive.

So: If I change the file name of the folder that the pictures are stored 
in, Digikam cannot know that they already are downloaded.
Is this a bug? Can this be changed?

In my Windows days, I used a software from Canon and it knew if a photo 
had been transferred to the hard drive even if I moved the folder to 
another location on the disc.
I would very much like to have this solved, as I want to be able to 
re-name the folders.
