This is a good question to Smit Metha <smit.meh at gmail.com>.I'm not sure if he is registered in this mailing list (he is in digikam-devel at kde.org and kde-imaging at kde.org). He has implemented this tool for GoSC 2012 and this year he will mentor new students...
