[Digikam-users] Extremely irritating error message

I find it *very* annoying when a program displays an error message which 
does not say what the problem is.

I'm getting such messages with digiKam 2.5.0.

I start digiKam as usual but it cannot access its database.  No 
indication why!

I try to create a new database, and get a message saying:

"It was not possible to add a collection for the following paths"

Again, no indication why.  How am I to fix the problem if I don't know 
what it is?

These problems are occurring with a collection that I've been using for 
years.
