I downloaded the src rpm for F17 from here:

http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=1593

at the time it was for the 2.6 rc version, and rebuilt the rpm for F16
myself. Takes a while to build, but I've built bigger packages.

I now have F17 installed, and have installed the non-rc rpm from the
same link. One day they'll get round to putting it in the
fedora-updates repo :)
