yes, it's easy.

in source code we load this file :

http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/extragear/graphics/digikam/data/pics/splash-digikam.png?view=log

http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/extragear/graphics/digikam/data/pics/splash-showfoto.png?view=log

... which are installed to your system. For me :

[root at localhost pics]# pwd
/mnt/data/Devel/SVN/trunk/graphics/digikam/data/pics
[root at localhost pics]# make install
Install the project...
-- Install configuration: "debugfull"
...
-- Installing: /usr/share/apps/digikam/data/splash-digikam.png
-- Installing: /usr/share/apps/showfoto/data/splash-showfoto.png
...

Just change these files on your system. respect image size of course. That all
