[Digikam-users] Can digikam "Save As" dng files?

I tried it. With my digikam (version 1.1.0 on Fedora 12) I can not
select dng file type in the save as dialog. If I type in test.dng as
file name the file is written, a file with the extension dng exists,
but in reality this is a tiff file.

This is what the dng-converter is for. But I don't use it for my cr2
files because neither the exposure nor the white balance was set as
before. I heard that adobes dng converter is much better, but I never
have tested this.
