One last comment Gilles ....

The "Curve Smooth mode" with the 16 bit control is a very nice change. 

When I adjust for the individual bits I do not really need to move the
markers in both the x and y direction. You may find it easier to simply
limit the markers to only move in the y direction. Easier for everybody.
