[Digikam-users] Purple fringe elimination?

Hi there,

I'd like to know if there are plans or wishes for a digiKam / kipi tool / 
plugin to eliminate purple fringing. I've seen some simple algorithms to do 
this, e.g. here,

where a simple Java applet demonstrates this feature.
