The default keys for this are PgUp/PgDwn, but you can configure digikam to use 
left/right arrow (or anything else) in the shortcut configuration dialog in the 
configuration menu.

The default key for switching the film strip on/off is Ctrl+T, but again you 
configure this to your liking.
