EXIF information should already be present in the images. And storing tags in
images as IPTC data is easy:
First, go to the configuration menu of Digikam (Settings -> Configure
digikam). Under the "Metadata" entry, ensure that "Save Image tags as
keywords tag" is selected.
From that point on, whenever you tag an image in Digikam, the tag will also be
stored as an IPTC Keyword. (You can verify this by checking the IPTC data
for images: Image -> Metadata -> Edit IPTC)
You can also update the metadata of images you have previously tagged. Use
Album -> "Synchronize Images with Database".
Please make sure you have a backup of your images before making any changes -
just in case!
