You could use
   Image: Auto rotate/Flip using Exif Tag
followed by rotating the image so that it is displayed correctly.

Not sure I understand the previous sentence...
You are aware of exifautotran:
  exifautotran - Transforms Exif files so that Orientation becomes 1
?
