Crash under showfoto have been already seen in this room. I recommend to
uninstall digiKam + showfoto + DigikamImagePlugins
and reinstall the most recent version (0.9.3) of digiKam in your computer.
Sound like a packaging problem...

Yes this is the right way


To add applications there, you have to start
>   kcontrol

Yes, under Mandriva 2008.0 for ex. all is set properly and automatically.

Arnd, this subject about "how to set Open With application" in pop-up menu
is a recurrent question that i seen in this room. This can be another entry
in web site FAQ...
