Not a digikam issue, but I hope that somebody can help or point to information

I use a sony gps and would like to have it perform automagically when plugged
in. It is not a problem to call a certain script via ivman, but in spite of this
a kde window is popping up and offering to 'open in a new window' or 'download
with digikam' etc which is what I want to suppress for only this piece of
hardware, not the whole class of usb storage devices.

I have googled, checked the hal documentation and udev and so on, created a file
/etc/hal/fdi/information/media-check-disable-storage_sony_gps.fdi

with

<deviceinfo version="0.2">
~  <device>
~    <match key="info.udi" contains="usb_device_54c_298">
~      <merge key="storage.media_check_enabled"
~      type="bool">false</merge>
~      <merge key="storage.automount_enabled_hint"
~      type="bool">false</merge>
~      <merge key="volume.ignore"
~      type="bool">true</merge>
~    </match>
~  </device>
</deviceinfo>

in it, but to no avail. kde keeps popping up a window when I plug in this device
and I did not find a configuration option how to modify this.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for sharing this with us
