Hi, and thanks for your answers. Here are some more comments/questions about
the fuzzy search tools.
To find duplicates, I selected an image and clicked tools->find duplicates from
the menu. At first, nothing appeared in the duplicates sidebar, and also
nothing in the main window. There were also no messages in the console. (Only
"style reset requested" all the time.) At that point I thought duplicate
search was not working at the moment. However, when I shut down digikam, and
started it again, all duplicates were listed in the duplicates sidebar. So the
tool seems to be working after all, and maybe my initial problems were due to
changing digikam databases and settings. I will do some more checking.
Regarding the similar items search, I was a bit surprised to find it not to be
symmetric, i.e. if image A is similar to B then B is not necessarily similar
to A. Is this intended? And just out of curiosity: Is "find duplicates" just
"find similar" with 100% threshold, or is there some more difference?
Finally, regarding the draw sketch search, I found that it often returns
matches which are not even remotely similar to the sketch. Apparantly, setting
the items count to X forces the tool to return precisely X hits in any
situation, if there are similar items or not. Moreover, I am not sure about
the order of the matching pictures (didn't check thoroughly) - are they
ordered by same measure of closeness to the sketch or are they always ordered
by album? The former possibility would be better, of course.
Best regards,
Gandalf
