Hello
I have problems with mounting the my digitalcamera. It used to be no problem
that KDE was mounting it as a normal USB Storage device but recently it is
not working anymore.
KDE still recognizes the camara and pops up the window. But when I try to open
it Konqueror gives the error "no such medium"
I am not sure since when the problem occurs. I have recently updated to KDE
3.5.8 as well as the kernel (2.6.18.8-0.7) and hald
(hal-0.5.8_git20061106-31.3).
I get the following messages in /var/log/messages (whole output at the end of
the mail)
Oct 28 17:58:14 Idefix hald[10538]: forcibly attempting to lazy
unmount /dev/sdb1 as enclosing drive was disconnected
Oct 28 17:58:14 Idefix hald: unmounted /dev/sdb1 from '/media/disk' on behalf
of uid 0
The blockdevice "/dev/sdb1 " is not existing any more after this messages,
however when I disable hald I can mount the camera without any problems
manually.
KDE still can mount my memory stick without any problems. But I have
discovered that the stick is using ehci instead of ohci like the camera.
Any ideas?
Is it possible to disable the hald for the camera?
Thank you
Florian
