Someone has a secret to tell you about Digikam.  Here's the secret..

I just started reading the Photographic Editing with Digikam documentation ( http://docs.kde.org/development/en/extragear-graphics/digikam/photographic-editing.html ): it is GREAT!!! I am very happy that you gave me that link Gilles! :-)))
Refocus is explained in great detail: that is perfect!
So Digikam is even better than I thought it was 10 minutes ago! :-)
And it will be even better after I read each chapter and really start to learn how to use all the possibilities of Digikam precisely.
I realize I was a very amateur Digikam user until this morning! :-DD
