[Digikam-users] Using external media with digikam

Digikam, last I checked, does not offer a way to view multiple 
collections at once.  That said, you -might- be able to get away with a 
unionfs of the two directories, but the sqlite database will probably 
get seriously confused if you do that, so make a backup before trying 
(or create a test area and point digikam at the test instead).
