download worked fine and I also observe the problem you describe
with current svn.

The picture dimensions are 3936 x 2624,
so with the following I think your suspicion is right:

According to

The resolution should be: 3872 x 2592

This might be the difference between total
pixels and effective pixels (10.75 vs. 10.2),

Which dcraw is used by the gimp/ufraw combo you used?
