[Digikam-users] Cached image thumbnails

My system crashed and I had to reboot.  Well apparently digikam was 
working on about 20 files and when I rebooted they were reduced to 0 
bytes in size - however digikam still shows the preview in the 
thumbnails.  My question is this - does digikam write out a smaller 
cache sized file for these thumbnails that I could still save before 
they are gone forever?  Thanks,
