[Digikam-users] Failed to load image .png in 0.9.0-rc1

Hi

I have just rebuilt my machine and installed 0.9.0-rc1 and for some reason I 
can not view png files. 

When I open a png file in the "Image Editor" or in "Showfoto" I get the error:

  Failed to load image <filename>.png

On the console I see:

 QFile::open: No file name specified
 QFile::open: No file name specified
 showfoto: WARNING: Failed to load image <filename>.png
 showfoto: WARNING: [Digikam::DImg* Digikam::DImgInterface::getImg()] d->image  
is NULL

I do get the thumbnail displayed and I get all the EXIF meta data displayed. 

Is this a qt problem? I am not sure which element of the system is causing 
this problem. Inkscape, scribus and gimp all display png images fine.

System details:

 qt-4.1.4-r2
 gcc-4.1.1
 glibc-2.4-r3
 2.6.17-gentoo-r8 i686

Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
