[Digikam-users] Broke My digikam

Today I accidentally changed the album path to \, and digikam refused to
start, citing 
"Failed to update old database to new database format"
 
tried to copy the digikam3.db to / and it then told me that there were
directories it couldn't find and listed them in the dialog box
with a yes / no option to remove from the db, but either option
resulted in a crash.
 
Have tried in vain to find correct config file to change this. no
luck.. Where is it??  (SUSE 10.0)
 
removal and reinstall of pkg was also unsuccessful
 
any help appreciated.
