Dear listmembers,
some observations I made you're probably interested in:
1.) when accessing the camera and downloading pictures in the camera
dialogue*, there is no "move" mode. I always have to download and then delete
in the camera. You easily get unsure whether you readily downloaded a picture
or you didn't. I normally do not want to keep the pictures in the camera, I
want them in my folder-structure instead.
2.) I cannot "drag & drop" pictures by clicking (or whatsoever) on them in the
camera dialogue and move them to above an appropriate folder on the main
window I would like them to reside.
3.) I noticed an instability: after moving the first picture to a folder and
deleting it within digicam, digicam freezes when trying to download the next
picture (unit per unit, right mouse klick, download, after finish-> delete).
Kill program, restart it your're fine until the overnext download attempt.
4.) when accidentally creating a folder from within the camera dialogue as a
subfolder (what wasn't intended probably) I cannot move it say one level
higher in the folder hierarchy from within the camera dialogue, I have to
quit the camera dialogue first to move it from within the main window.
5.) when downloading pictures from within the camera dialogue picture by
picture digicam does not remember to which folder I downloaded last, it
remembers the last accessed folder from the main window instead. Usually I
have a set of pictures "logically" coupled, so I would expect that in many
cases one would like to put several of them one after another into the same
folder.
(3) is actually an issue, the other one's are convenience type of things.
Let me know if I can be of any help regarding debugging things,
thanks for a great program!
Take care
Dieter Jurzitza
camera dialogue*: the window that opens up when I access the item camera ->
"name of the camera" from within the main dialogue of digikam.
