it scans at startup and when you import in new images; but it skips
existing images. you can't force it to rescan ... yet. on the other
hand, you can make use of the timeadjust plugin from kipi-plugins to
correct the date (use the exif option). but, if i'm not mistaken, you
will need the svn versions of libkexif and kipi-plugins.
