            Bug ID: 377099
Summary: Hightlight certain albums / tags in tree view
           Product: digikam
           Version: 5.5.0
          Platform: Appimage
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: AlbumsView
          Assignee: digikam-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: jens-bugs.kde.org at spamfreemail.de
  Target Milestone: ---

I create date-based hierarchical albums / folders for all my images according
to the following scheme: ~/Pictures/Digikam/YYYY/MM.DD_Description_of_album

Just like in Animal Farm, all albums are equal, but some are more equal than
others. ;-) I would like to visually highlight some albums (e.g. vacations,
special trips, etc. - about 10% of my collection) among all my daily life
children's playground and experimental images so they are easier to spot in the
tree view. I use 16x16 icons so album thumbnails are not an option.

Would it be possible to assign font color (just color, maybe bold/italic, not
font or size!) to the album names in the left side tree view? Or maybe (even
better) assign it to the album categories? This way I could set all vacation
picture albums red/bold and all nature shootings green, etc. and highlight new
albums just by assigning a category. Colors could be set in the settings, there
is already a categories editor.

The same, by the way, would be applicable to the tags tree. There are tags I
use all the time, a highlighting option would be great here.

Or maybe there is even a better idea to highlight certain albums?

Thank you!
