[digikam] [Bug 377039] Network Collections cause hang on "Reading Database"

This version appears to be silent on the command line but maybe I'm doing
something wrong. Here is how I'm starting it. Please advise if I should use a
different method:

io:digiKam afritz$ pwd
/Applications/digiKam
io:digiKam afritz$ digikam.app/Contents/MacOS/applet 
io:digiKam afritz$ 

The pkg downloaded with the link from the digikam site to kde.org's repository:
https://download.kde.org/stable/digikam/
