Can i become a developer for digikam

Can i become a developer for digikam,I become a c++ coder for two year,and i use qt for two years,i use visual studio in window platform,if i want to become a digikam developer,how can i begin,and where i can get help for build the develop environment and compile the project code.Thank you very much.
