When clicking on previous versions of the same image under Digikam, it does not
show its preview.
The only way to get a view of the previous versions is to click on the option:
"Show item permanently".

It'd be nice if Digikam could show preview of the previous versions when
clicked upon.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make changes to a photo and save it under versioning
2. Get into Album view and select the same picture
3. Under preview, you see the latest changes
4. Click "Versioning" under Right side
5. It shows previous versions of the photo
6. Click on any previous version.

Ideally, the preview pane should reflect the previous version that is selected.

Actual Results:  
Only the latest version of the photo is previewed

Expected Results:  
Selected version of the photo should be previewed
