I tried running digikam in Ubuntu 15.10 (Unity, w/o KDE unless pulled in as a
digikam dependency) and it indeed works there just fine.

At the moment, I am not able to recompile KDE stuff on Arch Linux to support
debug trace, but I will try a bit harder again and get back then.
