thanks for the hint!

I updated the sources and recompiled the package from scratch, but still
exactly the same thing happens :-(

Are you sure you have built Qt with DEBUG enabled? Otherwise the Q_ASSERT would
do nothing and you would not notice that something goes wrong! (and of course
you could not reproduce this)
