            Bug ID: 374304
Summary: manual entry of numbers below root tag in tag
                    hierarchy
           Product: digikam
           Version: 5.3.0
          Platform: Other
                OS: MS Windows
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Tags
          Assignee: digikam-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: ruprechtjoel at gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I am tagging a large number of wildlife photos in which I need to identify the
number of individuals of each species in each photo. I currently have a tag
hierarchy similar to the reduced version below, in which I tag the species,
then the number of individuals of that species in each photo:

-species 1
  -1 individual
  -2 individuals
  -...
  -50 individuals
-species 2
  -1 individual
  -2 individuals
  -...
  -50 individuals
etc...

It is very cumbersome to have so many tags for the number of individuals of
each species because the tag tree becomes extremely large. I suggest an option
for manual entry of numbers below a root tag.

Then one could do something like this:

-species 1
  - (manual entry of a number)
-species 2
  - (manual entry of a number)
etc...

This would greatly streamline the tagging process for users requiring to change
the number of objects below a root tag in each photo without having a huge list
of tags.

Thanks for the consideration, and all the great work on this software!
