To clarify -- 

Selecting "Import>Add Images"  opens window w/ option to add entire folders
("Select Folder") clicking on that causes crash every time (for me, at least).

Selecting "Import>Add Folders" opens window w/ option to "open" a folder and
then open individual or groups of images within which import without problem.
