            Bug ID: 342920
Summary: Print Assistant window should be non-modal and accept
                    drag-n-drop
           Product: digikam
           Version: 4.6.0
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: digikam-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: roger.foss at gmail.com

When you want to print multiple images on a page, you need to select all of
them before starting the Print Assistant. This is very cumbersome and
difficult when the images you want to print are far part in the image list.

Currently, the Print Assistant allows you to add additional images by clicking
the + button but this only allows you to browse the file system. It does not
allow you to browse Digikams own list of images!

If the Print Assistant Window was non-modal (ie. not forced on top), I could
have gone back to the main Digikam, browsed for additional pictures and dragged
those onto the Print Assistant.
This would be a much more natural way of adding pictures. It would also allow
you to select from different albums.

My guess is this extra feature is easily implemented:
1. Remove modal attribute from Print Assistant window
2. Make the Thumbnails list view in the Print Assistant window accept drag and
drop from Digikam

There's really no GUI redesign needed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In an album with lots of pictures, select 3 pictures: the first, middle and
last pictures
2. Start the Print Assistant, select a page layout that allows for 4 or more
pictures
3. Now try adding an additional digikam picture, from another album

Actual Results:
In step 1, this is difficult because you can't see all 3 pictures.

In step 3, you either need to browse the file system (without the aid of
digikams thumbnails), or cancel the print assistant, and select all pictures
again.
If the 4th pictures is in a different album, it's not possible.

Expected Results:
The Print Assistant window should have been non-modal, or not-on-top.
This would have allowed me to keep the Print Assistant window open in step 3,
and let me click on the main digikam window, navigate to additional pictures
and drag-and-drop added those onto the print assistent window.
