Wait a minute. Which digiKam version you use exactly.

With this debug statement : 

QCommandLineParser: option not defined: "database-directory"

==> this is digiKam 5.0.0 for plasma desktop. With this version, Phonon support
have be removed to use QtMultimedia instead.
