Moved the SQLite DB locally (synced to the server via OwnCloud).
Updated to 4.12.0.

I haven't meet any freezes so far. Plus the whole workflow is much more fluid.

I consider this solved in 4.12.0. Also for anyone else in the future: DON'T
store the database file on a remote server if you use SQLite.
