@Gilles: I try with new digikam 4.12: it still doesn't work.
Probably because my version of libjpeg is 62 (<80). But how do you manage to
have a version > 80 ?
Ligjpeg comes from jpegturbo  (cfr your comment #26)
Latest version is 1.4.1 which contains libjpeg.so.62
