An exception sound like an error encored by... here Exiv2 shared lib.

This prevent crash if exception wrapping is well done. It's the case here.

Exiv2 is here called by database scanner to register item. Sound like something
run badbly with Exiv2.

Can you try to read metadata from a DNG file using exiv2 CLI tool ?
