            Bug ID: 338762
Summary: Improvements in the maps views
           Product: digikam
           Version: 4.2.0
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: libkgeomap
          Assignee: digikam-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: nicofo at tuxfamily.org

Here are some improvements suggestions for the map view:

1) when thumbnails are displayed on the map, improve the way single or multiple
pictures are displayed. Nowadays, there is a number that says if there is 1
picture or several pictures (and it is possible to configure whether that
number must be displayed).
1a) If there is 1 picture -> no need to display the number
1b) if there are several pictures, in addition to the number, it would be nice
to have 2 or 3 rectangles superposed (so just visually you know it's a group of
images). Or alternatively use a frame bigger for groups than for single image.

2) Add a way to easily unselect all pictures
The problem is: if you had selected a single group of 50 pictures (possible if
zoom is large), then if you zoom (say that the group of 50 become 10 groups of
5 pictures), if you want to change the selection, you'll have to unselect the
10 groups one by one ...

3) Using Google maps view:
3a) it is unfortunately not possible to use the mouse scroll to zoom (while it
is with openstreetmap view)
3b) there are several time things (texts, scrollers,...) that get selected in
the Google view -> see attachment things in blue. It is visually not nice. It
happens randomly (or maybe if you click on the map then move the mouse outside
the map ?)

Reproducible: Always
