digikam (3.4.0) on KDE Platform 4.11.5 using Qt 4.8.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:  I restarted my computer and
repeatedly tried to start DigiKam.  DigiKam crashed as the main and tips
windows opened.  This happens every time I try to run DigiKam.
