            Bug ID: 336037
Summary: Wrong dates displayed in import window of DigiKam
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: digikam
           Version: 3.5.0
          Platform: Kubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Import
          Assignee: digikam-devel at kde.org
          Reporter: pithomas at free.fr

Bonjour,

For some photos the date underneath each photo is correct, for other it is
wrong (31/12/1979 !!!)
See http://noellathomas.free.fr/Fichiers/DigiKam_1.png: import window with
wrong and right dates

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Using the CF memory card of my CANON PowerShot G3 camera, inserted in my
flash card reader.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
http://noellathomas.free.fr/Fichiers/DigiKam_1.png: import window with wrong
and right dates

Expected Results:
Having the shooting date underneath each photo, the only date interesting the
photographer !!
Having photos (including panorama photos) and videos sorted by shooting date

http://noellathomas.free.fr/Fichiers/DigiKam_3.png: video incorrectly sorted
http://noellathomas.free.fr/Fichiers/DigiKam_4.png: panorama photos incorrectly
sorted

Having the possibility to import photos in a folder automatically named with
the shooting date
Having the possibility to give a name to each imported photo, the name being:
- shooting_date_time.extension
or
- a prefix typed_number.extension

The name given by a camera is meaningless (img8521). The date of the file is
meaningless.

Considering dates, the shooting date is the most important date for the
photographer. DigiKam must allow to choose the shooting date for displaying and
sorting photos. This can be done with several other applications.
