For tagging my photos I use what is labeled "the keyboard way" in this
description: http://www.digikam.org/node/641
After assigning all the desired tags I save changes and move to the next image
by hitting the "page down" key on the keyboard. This frequently crashes
digikam.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tag photos as described in http://www.digikam.org/node/641 "The keyboard
way"
2. Use "page down" key to save changes and move to the next image
Actual Results:  
Digikam quite frequently crashes
