For quick documentation, it is much faster to shoot a foto than to use an
optical scanner. If digiKam  provides such an imnjterface, one could easily
take the shot,  and run text recognition within image manipulating.

Regarding the total workflow, this should be even faster than starting GIMP
with OCR capabilities or so.
